Baby Care Basics
May 1; 6 pm
Class covers the characteristics of the newborn, physical care of the baby, early parenting and the role of the baby's doctor(s).
Labor & Delivery Preparation Night
May 2; 6 pm
This class familiarizes expectant parents with the hospital facilities and gives you a greater understanding of what to expect during the labor and delivery process. All medical options for childbirth will be discussed, including epidurals and c-sections. This class is included as the third class in the Prepared Childbirth Series.
May 8; 6 pm
A practical, informative program on the benefits of breast milk, how to breastfeed properly and how working mothers can succeed in breastfeeding.
Prepared Childbirth Classes
Upcoming Series: May 23, 30, Jun 6, 13, 20
This 5-class series helps couples encounter the labor and delivery process with the knowledge to make this an enjoyable experience. Classes focus on preparing expectant parents intellectually, emotionally and physically for childbirth. This course should be taken the last three months of pregnancy, but reservations should be made as early in the pregnancy as possible.
Upcoming Series: Jul 9, 16, 23, 30
Once the baby is born, this 4-class series teaches parents how to massage the infant from 2 weeks of age or older to enhance their sleep patterns and improve digestion and weight gain. Strokes specific for colic and sinus congestion are also taught during the series.
