Bread Pudding
Ingredients:
- 8 cups French bread, cut into small pieces
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cups skim milk
- 1 (12-ounce) can evaporated skimmed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 egg yolk
- 4 egg whites
Directions:
Spread French bread in a 3-quart baking dish. Sprinkle raisins over bread. In bowl, combine remaining ingredients except egg whites.In mixing bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold into sugar mixture. Pour over bread and raisins in pan. Let sit 5 minutes.Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes and serve hot.
Yield: 12 servings
