Chilli
Ingredients:
- 2 onions, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 2 1/2 pounds ground sirloin
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can natural no salt stewed tomatoes
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can beef broth
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 5 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/8 teaspoon red pepper
- Salt and pepper as desired
Directions:
Coat a large pot with no stick cooking spray and saute onion, green pepper, garlic and celery until tender. Add ground sirloin and cook until done. Skim off any fat. Add remaining ingredients bringing mixture to a boil. Lower heat, and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
For a real treat, serve with light shredded Cheddar chees and light fritos.
