April 2005 Classes
Prepared Childbirth Classes
This series of classes helps couples encounter
the labor and delivery process with the knowledge
to make this an enjoyable experience. Classes focus on preparing expectant parents intellectually,
emotionally and physically for childbirth. This course should
be taken the last three months of pregnancy, but reservations should
be made as early in the pregnancy as possible.
For Kids Only
This class is designed for children two and
one-half to ten years of age to assist them in preparing for their new
role as big brother or sister. The class gives the child a better
understanding of what to expect when the new baby is brought home. Children
should attend class as close to the mother’s due date as possible,
but reservations should be made as early in the pregnancy as possible.
Baby Care Basics
Wednesday, April 6; 6 pm
Education Center
Class covers the characteristics of the newborn, physical care of the baby, early
parenting and the role of the baby’s doctor(s).
Breastfeeding Basics
Wednesday, April 13; 6 pm
Education Center
A practical, informative program on the benefits of breast milk, how to breastfeed
properly and how working mothers can succeed in breastfeeding.
Labor and Delivery Preparation Night
Wednesday, April 20; 6 pm
Education Center
Class familiarizes future parents with hospital facilities and provides a greater
understanding of what to expect when you deliver your baby at Thibodaux Regional.
