Thibodaux Regional recently launched the South Project, the third phase of a multi-phase facility expansion and renovation project. The South Project includes expansion and renovation of over 51,000 square feet. Of this, 13,580 square feet will be new construction and renovation to include expansion of the Emergency Department, Kitchen and Dining Facility, Front Entrance, Gift Shop, and Chapel. Efforts in the design were focused with our patients’ needs in mind. Every aspect of this project has and will help us better serve our patients, their families and our region.
Thibodaux Regional’s Emergency Department will triple in size, and is designed to ensure optimal patient flow, patient privacy, convenience, and comfort while maintaining state-of-the-art technology.
To continue to provide the highest quality dietary services, state-of-the-art food preparation and serving areas for our guests, the South Project will double the size of the café dining area and kitchen facility.
The South Project includes significant enhancements to the Front Entrance which will create an immediate healing environment. Also, expansion of the Chapel and Gift Shop will be made to better serve our guests.
This phase compliments the initial two phases, which included the Women’s Center, Heart & Vascular Center, Medical Office Building, and Patient Tower. Scheduled for completion in 2010 at a cost of $26 million, the South Project will inject in excess of $150 million into the regional economy and make Thibodaux Regional more efficient, productive, and comfortable for all of our patients, guests, and team members.
