There's no place like home, especially for a patient eager to be discharged from the hospital. More than just a place of comfort, home is a symbol of independent living – of hope – of belonging.

Thibodaux Regional has put together an interdisciplinary health care team to address the many needs of homebound acute and chronically ill patients. By transferring the services provided by the health care team from the hospital to the home, we can give our patients the best, most personalized care available. This allows them to recover in their own familiar surroundings with the people they love. All services are provided under the direction of the patient's physician. The Home Health Center of Thibodaux Regional is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

WHAT SERVICES DOES HOME HEALTH PROVIDE

  • Skilled nursing
  • Certified nursing assistants
  • Physical therapy
  • Speech therapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Enterostomal therapy
  • Board certified social worker
  • Registered dietitian

Home Health Nurses are available to provide treatments in the home on a scheduled, routine basis to meet the patient's needs.

 

TREATMENTS MAY INCLUDE:

  • Administering injections and intravenous therapy
  • Bowel maintenance, including enemas and colostomy care
  • Obtaining complete nursing assessment of the patient's condition
  • Enteral tube feedings, wound care and dressing changes
  • Rehabilitative care
  • Terminal care
  • Diabetic care
  • Maternal/child care
