Landry Earns Hand Therapy Certification

Steven Landry LOTR, Occupational Therapist, recently earned the designation of Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), which is awarded upon successful completion of the certification examination process administered by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC). Landry is an occupational therapist at the Outpatient Rehabilitation Center of Thibodaux Regional. The CHT is the only internationally recognized credential for therapists who specialize in upper extremity rehabilitation.

In the field of hand therapy, the credentials CHT distinguish an occupational therapist or a physical therapist as someone with the highest professional expertise in the specialty of hand therapy. As a CHT, Landry is a part of an elite group of fewer than 3,600 specialists in the United States and Canada that has met the standards set by experts in the field of hand therapy.

To earn certification Landry was required to obtain at least five years of clinical experience, extensive clinical experience in the field of hand therapy, and pass the Hand Therapy Certification Examination administered by HTCC.

Landry has been employed at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center since 1995. He is a member of the American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT) and has held leadership roles in the Louisiana Occupational Therapy Association.
