Regional Medical Center Announces Grand Opening of North Hospital Project
Thibodaux, LA, October 12, 2006 - Thibodaux Regional
Medical Center is pleased to announce the grand opening of its new
Heart and Vascular Center, Women’s Center, and inpatient bed
tower. This $27 million phase of construction known as the North Hospital
Project is part of a $100 million expansion and renovation project.
Other enhancements in the North Hospital phase of the overall project
include a state-of-the-art Clinical Laboratory, Medical Records Department,
and Central Plant facility.
“Our vision is to provide outstanding facilities and excellent
service while providing compassionate care in a state-of-the-art healing
environment,” explained Greg Stock, Chief Executive Officer of
Thibodaux Regional. “The North Hospital Project will help us
continue to do just that. With more than $6 million in new technology,
the facilities are designed to provide the latest technology available
for patients’ needs and expectations and allow us to further
expand key services.”
“Expansion of hospital facilities allows us to respond to our
community’s growing healthcare needs,” continued Stock. “Many
people have worked very hard to make this expansion a reality. Through
the collaborative efforts of our hospital Board, our medical staff,
and our hospital team, we are reaching new heights and furthering our
vision as a national and regional health care leader. I am grateful
to everyone for the role they have played.”
The Heart and Vascular Center expansion doubles the size of the existing
cardiovascular facility and offers comprehensive cardiovascular services.
Included in the new Center are three state-of-the-art procedure rooms
that offer patients the most advanced form of cardiovascular imaging
in the area. The Center features the latest in heart and vascular technology
including the Toshiba Infinix DP-i Vascular Imaging System. This advanced
imaging system will allow physicians to quickly obtain detailed diagnostic
information to accurately diagnosis heart and peripheral vascular disease
and disorders. Physicians can also use the system to treat patients
during cardiac catheterization procedures to precisely place balloons
and stents. As an added convenience, the Heart and Vascular Center
has a separate entrance with a covered canopy.
The new Women’s Center features 12 Labor, Delivery, Recovery
and Postpartum (LDRP) suites with garden views. Thibodaux Regional
designed these suites so parents and their newborns feel pampered,
safe and comfortable. In addition, the Center features the latest technology
and has a state-of-the-art Level II Nursery, C-section suite, anti-partum
rooms, triage rooms, and capacity to expand at a future date. The attractive
décor coupled with the many new amenities make the Center especially
well suited for moms, dads and their new additions.
The new Patient Tower is adding much needed rooms, including the addition
of 30
all-private rooms. Thirty more patient rooms can be added in a relatively
short period of time.
In all, the Tower has a structural capacity for up to four floors.
All of the rooms are attractive and comfortable and equipped with the
latest technology.
“The completion of the North Hospital Project illustrates a significant
milestone in Thibodaux Regional’s Journey to Excellence. Through
this expansion and with the support of our staff and physicians, we
reconfirm our commitment to providing the highest standard of care
to our patients and the surrounding area,” stated Jacob Giardina,
Chairman, Board of Commissioners, Thibodaux Regional.
As we continue to expand hospital facilities and services, we are staying
focused on what matters most – our patients.
Joining Giardina on the Board of Commissioners of Thibodaux Regional
are Jody Plaisance, MD, vice-chairman; Donald Ayo, PhD; Danny Cavell;
and Cleveland Hill, PhD.
